Theatre Subscription Box and Homeschool Curriculum
PLACES, PLEASE! theatre curriculum is a bi-monthly subscription box for children ages 9-14. It’s a great STEAM resource and no experience is needed for this step by step acting curriculum!
Cast, Block, Rehearse!
This is where the fun and collaboration begin! Cast your characters, find your costumes/props, block the play and start rehearsing! There are three ways to produce your play: Readers Theatre, Studio Theatre, or Main Stage.
Subscribe and Receive Your Box!
You're now a PLACES, PLEASE! Player! We have loads of fun planned for you and it all begins with your first box!
Learn more about what you will receive in your box here!
Perform and submit your show!
Invite an audience and perform your show! Take a video and submit it in our play competition here. One video submission will be selected bi-monthly as the Grand Prize Winner and will receive prizes. The winning video will be highlighted on the website.
PLACES, PLEASE! theatre boxes will provide hours of entertainment and education for your children's homeschool, family, and friends. A performance can be staged as simply as in your living room or go big and set up your garage, sell tickets and serve popcorn to an audience!
My girls have been really getting into their Places, Please box, and this book (A Stage Full of Theatre) adds just a bit more enthusiasm to their roles - they’re inspired!
ROBIN, HAPPY VALLEY, OR
This was so fun for the kids to do! There was so much helpful information in the box, and we found it really fun and easy to produce, even with no theater background. Wonderful idea!
AMY, PORTLAND, OR
The kids opened the “Places, Please!” box and absolutely loved it. They each picked a character (my oldest daughter will be Wildbeard, my second daughter will be Backstabber Lindsay and my son will be Pegleg and Mike) and specific props to go with their character. They decided they want to work on it a little bit every day and eventually put on a real show for friends to come see. So today we worked on reading the story out loud a few times and understanding their characters - personality traits and ages. They dressed up in their costume and played in our backyard in character. They really enjoyed it.
As a parent, I thought the box was such a good idea!! The story is creative, funny, and sweet at the same time. It teaches them a good lesson and allows them to develop the character as much or as little as they want. Also, I think the popcorn is a great addition! 😊
